Veronica Meeks earned her Master’s degree in Pastoral Counseling from MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, KS. She also earned her certification in Play Therapy as well as certification as a Sexual Addiction Treatment Provider (SATP).
Experience as a Children’s Pastor and an Oncology nurse deepened her compassion for the hurting. Her desire is to see individuals become healthier and whole and sees counseling as a way to be of help.
Since 2002, Veronica’s vision has been to open a counseling center that included a group of quality therapists. A long-time resident of Liberty, raising her family after graduating from William Jewell College in 1990 with a nursing degree and settling down in this wonderful community, she established Rock of Hope Counseling in 2012. This dream began while working as an Assistant Children’s Pastor at a local church, where interaction with parents and children made clear the need for help when times are tough. The passion and care for families led Veronica to achieve a Masters in Counseling with pursuing credentialing in Play Therapy as well as Sexual Addiction. Care is provided for 3 year olds up to 80 years old, assisting with all phases and issues of life. Her background as an Oncology Nurse brings a sensitivity and understanding to the effects of stress on the family system as well as end-of-life issues. She is able to work sensitively with those wanting free of sexual addiction.
The counseling center is conveniently located near the crossroads of Highway 291 and I-35 at 888 Haines Drive. Five other clinicians share the space with varying specialties and experiences, some of these include EMDR Therapy, Grief Therapy and Play Therapy. Clinicians have backgrounds in hospice, care for families that serve on police or firefighter forces, ministerial, addictions, and more.
